Is this your part?
Pull the lever and dome cap, unscrew the retaining nut and lift the cartridge out by its stem. Match a round cartridge 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) across with a flat three-port base, a short square-sided stem and a limit stop ring around the stem. Early faucets on the old-style RK7440-CART-OS and faucets on the RL-314 may differ at the base, so compare the base of your old cartridge first.
When to replace it
The spout drips with the lever shut, water weeps up around the handle base, the lever has gone stiff or gritty, the mix drifts between hot and cold, or the faucet will not run fully hot.

What is in the box

How to install it
Time: 10 to 15 minutes. Tools: Hex key or Phillips screwdriver, Adjustable wrench.
- Shut both stops and open the lever to bleed pressure.
- Remove the handle screw and lever, then lift off the dome cap.
- Unscrew the retaining nut and pull the old cartridge straight up.
- Seat the new cartridge flat with the ports aligned and snug the nut.
- Set the red limit stop before the lever goes on: clockwise raises the maximum hot, counterclockwise lowers it. Its lug must touch the cartridge lug.
- Refit the lever and test hot, cold and shutoff.
Questions
Does it come with a wrench?
No. The cartridge ships with its limit stop and base gasket fitted. Reuse the retaining nut on your faucet.
Does it fit shower valves?
No. It is a lavatory and kitchen cartridge. The RK7300-CART-3P and HL-40 tub and shower cartridges are different parts.
The faucet will not run fully hot after install. Why?
The red limit stop is set low. Lift it off, turn it clockwise to raise the maximum hot, and refit it so its lug touches the cartridge lug.
