Will it fit?
Fits
- Center diverter position on Kohler three-handle tub and shower valves, 10616 and 10620 series
Not compatible with
- Hot and cold positions on the same valve (they take a C broach stem)
- Kohler Rite-Temp pressure balance valves
- Kohler MasterShower thermostatic valves
- Single-handle or two-handle Kohler valves
- Non-Kohler valve bodies
Is this your part?
Pull the center stem and look for the 20868 stamp on the brass body, or measure it: 5.4 in. overall, 1 in. across the body, a Z broach at the handle end and an ID length of 11. A C broach means you pulled a hot or cold stem.
When to replace it
The tub spout keeps running while the showerhead is on, the showerhead comes out weak because the spout never fully closes, or the center handle has gone stiff, gritty or sloppy.

What is in the box
- 1 diverter stem
- 1 brass faucet seat
How to install it
Time: 15 to 25 minutes. Tools: Deep-well stem socket, Seat wrench, Adjustable wrench.
- Shut the water to the bath.
- Pull the center handle, screw and escutcheon.
- Back the old stem out with a deep-well stem socket.
- Pull the old seat with a seat wrench and set the new one. A pitted seat chews a fresh washer down within months.
- Thread the new stem in hand-tight, then snug it with the socket.
- Run the spout, engage the diverter and check the spout stops before the trim goes back on.
Questions
Is the seat included?
Yes. A brass faucet seat ships with the stem.
Will it fit the hot or cold handle?
No. Those positions take a shorter stem with a C broach. FourHome sells the Kohler Trend hot and cold stems separately.
Is it the same repair as Danco 11Z-9D?
Yes, and this one includes the seat.
