| American Standard 57281-07 Seats in the American Standard 780100 ten-count kit | Danco #44 (30043E) Lasco SB-8 BrassCraft SCB0831X |
Pull the handle and stem and back the old seat out with a seat wrench. Match three things: 1/2 in. x 20 thread, 7/16 in. tall, 9/16 in. across the face. At 7/16 in. it is the tallest of the common 1/2 x 20 seats. A seat of the same thread that is 5/16 in. or 3/8 in. tall belongs to a different brand's valve.
The tub spout or showerhead drips no matter how hard the handle is turned, water weeps past the handle, or a fresh stem washer stopped the drip for a week and then it came back. That pattern is a grooved seat face, not a bad washer.
