Pull one handle and the bonnet nut. The RP1740 stem is a short white polymer unit just under 2 in. tall with alignment tabs at the base and a splined top for the handle. A rubber seat and spring sit under it in the valve body. If your faucet has a single lever, or a cartridge that turns in place instead of a stem that rises, this is not your part.
The spout keeps running after both handles are closed, water weeps around the handle base, a handle takes extra force to shut, or it squeals when you turn it. Worn stem seals and a pitted seat cause all four.
