Will it fit?

Fits

  • Pfister bathroom lavatory pop-up drains worked by a lift rod
  • Other lift-rod lavatory pop-ups with the same shaft length and cap diameter

Not compatible with

  • Complete pop-up drain assemblies (Pfister 972-0 series)
  • Lift-and-turn stoppers
  • Push-button drains
  • Toe-touch tub drains

Is this your part?

Lift your old stopper straight out of the drain and measure it. This one runs 3-5/8 in. from the top of the cap to the bottom of the shaft with a 1-3/16 in. cap, and the shaft has a slotted foot the pivot rod passes through.

When to replace it

The basin drains while you fill it, the stopper will not stay down, pops back up, sits crooked in the seat, or rattles loose when the lift rod moves.

What is in the box

How to install it

Time: About 2 minutes. Tools: None.

  1. Pull the old stopper straight up out of the drain.
  2. Turn the new stopper so the shaft slot faces the back of the sink.
  3. Drop it in so the pivot rod passes through the slot.
  4. Work the lift rod to confirm the stopper raises and seats.
  5. If the stopper lifts out with the rod, the slot is not on the pivot rod. Reseat it.

Questions

Is this the whole drain?

No. It is the stopper only. If the drain seat is corroded or the linkage is broken, replace the full pop-up assembly.

Will it fit a non-Pfister sink?

It fits lift-rod pop-ups with the same 3-5/8 in. shaft and 1-3/16 in. cap. Measure your old stopper first.

Is there a 2 pack?

Yes. A 2 pack is sold on Amazon.

Why does the stopper come out with the rod?

The shaft slot is not facing the pivot rod. Pull it and turn the slot toward the back of the sink.
